Atlas Travel Planner
Group trip planning without the forty-tab spreadsheet. Maps, votes, costs and bookings live in one shared canvas that six friends can actually agree on.
01 — Overview
Democracy for holidays
Every group trip dies in a chat thread. Atlas gives the group a shared map where anyone can drop a pin, vote on stays, and watch the budget update live.
Our insight from testing: people don't plan trips top-down. They collect, then converge — so the interface is a collection first and an itinerary second.
02 — Approach
What the engagement covered
- Diary studies with five groups mid-planning, capturing the chaos as it happened.
- A map-first canvas where pins, stays and transport share one zoom level.
- Voting with vetoes and budgets, so the loudest friend doesn't always win.
- A cost-splitting model that survives late joiners and early leavers.
- Shareable trip pages that market themselves every time a group invites a friend.
03 — Outcome
From thread to trip
Groups using Atlas reached a booked itinerary in a median of six days, down from three weeks of chat chaos. Invites became the top acquisition channel — every trip recruits its next five users.
Atlas raised its seed round on the back of the launch metrics and kept us on for the mobile companion.
